In this bowl the Khmer Plain lies in the centre of the country.

In the north of the country the bleakness is replaced by the endless challenges of the hills and mountains. The Delta upto the Mekong Delta is an extraordinary natural landscape, habitat of the animal kingdom and the bread basket of Vietnam.
